How to Access Your Etsy Downloads After Purchase: A Step-by-Step Guide

Etsy is a treasure trove of creative digital products, from printable planners to wall art and digital invitations. Once you’ve made a purchase, the next step is downloading your item so you can start using it. If you're new to Etsy or digital downloads in general, don't worry! Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to access your downloads after purchase.



Step 1: Confirm Your Purchase


After completing your payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Etsy. This email is sent to the address associated with your Etsy account. Make sure your payment is fully processed, as downloads are only accessible after payment confirmation.


Step 2: Log in to Your Etsy Account


To access your downloads, you need to be logged into the same Etsy account used to make the purchase. Digital downloads aren’t accessible if you checked out as a guest, so ensure you’re logged in before proceeding.


Step 3: Navigate to "Your Purchases"


Once logged in:

  1. Click on "Your Account" in the top-right corner of the Etsy homepage.

  2. Select "Purchases and Reviews" from the dropdown menu.


Step 4: Locate Your Purchase


Under the "Purchases and Reviews" section, you’ll see a list of your recent purchases. Find the item you want to download, and you’ll notice a button labeled "Download Files" next to it.


Step 5: Download Your Files


Click the "Download Files" button, and you’ll be directed to a new page where all the files associated with your purchase are available.


  • Click on each file link to download it to your device.

  • If there are multiple files, you’ll need to download each one individually.

Pro Tip: Make sure to save the files to a specific folder on your computer so you can find them easily later.


Step 6: Accessing Files on Mobile Devices

If you’re using the Etsy app, you’ll notice that downloads aren’t available directly through the app. Instead, use a mobile browser:


  1. Open your browser and go to Etsy.com.

  2. Log in to your account and navigate to "Purchases and Reviews".

  3. Follow the same steps above to download your files.


Step 7: Troubleshooting Issues


I can’t find my download notification email?


First, check your spam or junk inbox. If you use Gmail, also check your Social and Promotions tabs. If it’s not there, adding transaction@etsy.com to your address book or safe list can help you locate these emails in the future.

For now, you can still access your digital purchases in your account.



Where can I find my digital purchases in my account?


To access your digital files from your account:

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Your account.

  2. Go to Purchases and reviews.

  3. Next to the order, select Download Files. This goes to the Downloads page for all the files attached to your order.

You can also go back to the item’s listing page, where you should Instant Download on the images for the item. 

There are generally no limits for when or how many times you can download a file. In most cases, you can access a file any time on your Purchases page, provided the transaction hasn't been canceled or removed.

If your payment is still processing, the Download Files button will be gray.


Sometimes, you might face issues downloading your files. Here are some common solutions:


  • Check Your Payment Status: Downloads won’t be available until payment is fully processed.

  • Guest Checkout: If you purchased as a guest, find your email receipt from Etsy. It contains a link to download your files.

  • Contact the Seller: If you can’t find the files or experience technical issues, reach out to the seller for assistance.
